For many years, Labor Unions, local businesses and community members have shown their generosity by donating items to the Minneapolis Labor Center Silent Auction. This year, 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Working Partnerships Emergency Food Program.
The Working Partnerships Emergency Food Program provides $25 Cub Foods gift cards to community members experiencing financial hardship due to family emergencies, unexpected medical bills, layoffs, and lack of work. Over the past two years, the Working Partnerships Emergency Food Program has seen record usage due to the economic downturn.
Funding for the program relies solely on contributions from individuals and organizations. All proceeds - every single dollar - from the 2009 Silent Auction will go directly to keep the Working Partnerships Emergency Food Program running and serve our neighbors when they need us most.
